some works from the national gallery, east building

Included in this post are some personal favorites from the East Building portion of the National Gallery in Washington, DC, which is currently undergoing some extensive repairs. I guess I'm more of a modern art type, finding myself spending far more time exploring this side of the place. I have a great appreciation for the classical works and styles, though in all honesty, I get bored quickly by that type of art, for the most part. To each their own I suppose, and I will say, there is currently an astoundingly good exhibit going on at the West side called Colorful Realm, Japanese Bird-and-flower paintings by Ito Jakuchu, which I'll post a little bit more about later this week. In the meantime, enjoy the art.
