Autechre, the pioneering duo comprised of Sean Booth and Rob Brown released their debut album "Incunabula" in 1993 as part of The Artificial Intelligence series on Warp Records. For me, personally, there is something about this album that reminds me of summer. I could never really put my finger on it, or really explain it - it just does. Below are a few faves in particular from that album that seem to capture the essence of hot, humid days while listening to the cicadas sing and watching monolithic, electric-lit clouds in the evenings soon fade into clear star-filled skies as a subtle breeze gently cools the air. These tracks, and this album gets better with age, and it would be a crying shame if Warp don't do a real nice reissue of all of the AI series in 2013. Listen carefully and with great pleasure.
