On Saturday, Kris and I went to the Round Hill Arts Center to check out the opening reception for the Mother/Earth art exhibit, going on until June 15th, 2014. We were treated to a variety of two and three-dimensional works pertaining to the theme, and enjoyed talking with some of the artists in the show. We really enjoyed all of the entries in this exhibit and for me, some of the highlights included the beautiful, large-scale painting by Alice Mullen (above), as well as her "Totem" painting on wood (two bottom images), both for sale for ridiculously low prices. My "Time Traveler" watercolor painting (below) looks good framed and on display in natural light. I still need to get a better photo of it one of these days, however.
In addition to the work in the RHAC, there is the excellent Gateway Gallery and Bogati Bodega & Vineyard, who sell some of the best tasting wines we've had from anywhere, period. So if you're heading down route seven west, just beyond Purcellville, Virginia, make it a point to drop by all three places, all within one convenient location!
