sketch dump: 1/2010
Wow, already a month has passed in 2010! Seems like it just began. It's funny how we make resolutions for the new year yet never stick with most of them. I managed to hit the gym once, on January first, then before long, four weeks just zoom on by. Tomorrow I'm going to be hurting though, being it'll be my first practice for our annual school basketball game. Not looking forward to it. One thing I have been doing is painting, getting a little done everyday. I've been trying to squeeze in a little more time devoted to the canvas and less time at the laptop. Dumping the cable TV was a cakewalk, however, less time online is a bit more challenging. In the meantime, I've got some art to post from January, including the four drawings above, made in a large A4 Moleksine for Big A's sketchbook exchange. I call them "entities" for reasons I'm not sure of. I'll spare you any long, drawn out pretentious explanations however. They're simply semi-elaborate doodles with little faces. Below are some newly reworked Splotch Monsters, all of who will go on sale at my Etsy shop this month. Speaking of, I want to send out a HUGE thanks to those who have supported my shop and my work there in its first month of business. I'm always pleasantly surprised when someone decides to buy my work, especially in these seemingly endless tough financial times. I'm also thrilled to see all the work my wife has been selling too lately, though not through her Etsy, but by word of mouth and commissions from friends. These small victories keep me hopeful.
